Marketing Resources
We can help your property increase business by offering many free and low-cost marketing opportunities to promote your property. These include:
- Massachusetts - Where to Stay - Comprehensive print and online lodging directory of MLA properties. Print version distributed at visitor centers throughout Massachusetts, Amtrak stations between Boston and New York, Logan Airport, and gateway locations in Canada. Targets consumers in the drive market. Total circulation: 55,000. All property members receive a complimentary listing and can purchase advertising space at additional cost.
- Massachusetts Great Escapes - High-quality, glossy magazine produced annually in partnership with the Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism and American Express, featuring articles focused on winter/spring getaways in Massachusetts. The magazine is mailed to 350,000 American Express frequent travelers throughout the Northeast, as well as international distribution in Canada, the UK and Ireland.
- Massachusetts Great Gay Escapes - This high-quality magazine, produced annually, is MLA's niche marketing piece geared toward GLBT travelers. Great Gay Escapes is directly mailed to 24,000 gay/lesbian households in New York City , Philadelphia and Washington , D.C., with additional distribution at pride festivals throughout New England.
- Marketing Partnerships - MLA continually looks for opportunities to team up with other organizations and associations to provide property members with a direct link to a qualified, receptive audience.
Strategic Partner
The Massachusetts Lodging Association is able to use its buying power to negotiate tremendous values on necessary products and services for its members. Strategic Partners are those Industry Partners who have agreed to offer special discounts on products and services to member properties.
Education Resources
Massachusetts Lodging Association, through its Educational Foundation, the Roger Saunders Lodging Institute, provides a wide variety of educational resources and programming to develop a qualified hospitality workforce. Included in this statewide effort are coursework and internship programs for both high school students and college students. MLA also offers local and national seminars and workshops throughout the year and at MLA's Annual Conference. These seminars address current issues and training in every department and for virtually every position level. Three Lending Libraries are available for member properties to borrow valuable training videos and books as they face the training challenges at their individual property. Legal Resources
Members can receive answers to common legal questions from MLA's attorney. Members also have the national resources of the American Hotel and Lodging Association to draw from for answers to any number of questions.
Discounted Event Registration
MLA members receive discounts to all MLA events throughout the year, including the Annual Conference, Stars of the Industry Awards Gala, Outlook lodging forecasts, educational seminars, Hospitality Cup Golf Tournament, and "Meet Your Legislator" events.
Government Affairs
